Residential Designs
1. Initial consultation
You share your goals for your home or townhome project with me. This might be as simple as a phone call, or it might require meeting in person or on site to fully understand the scope. This discovery stage is free.
2. Proposal
No matter if this is your first time building a home or you’re an experienced developer looking for an architect to create a residential project, I will generate a design proposal that depicts my fees tailored to your project. Signing a design contract gets the project moving.
3. First Draft
This is a highly collaborative effort. I lean on you to understand your vision of what an ideal space would be to best achieve your goals. I ask many questions to tailor the project to your needs – economy, style, sanctuary, peace – whatever is important to you. The design moves from a conceptual sketch, into the computer with 3D design software. I LOVE being part of this process with you!
4. Second Draft
Once we meet to review the initial design, I input any revisions you may request, and begin to add more details to the project. We finalize decisions on exterior and interior finishes, and I add electrical plans to the drawings.
5. Final Drawings
After second drafts are approved, I complete your construction documents that includes the most detailed drawings. I’m also quarterbacking any consultants that may be a part of the team (civil engineers, surveyors, landscape architects, interior designers) to build one unified set of drawings.
6. Additional Services
Though my scope typically ends when final plans are complete, I offer additional services during the permitting, bidding, and construction phases of your project if desired. Regardless, I’m excited to see your vision come to life 😊
